A bit about me
I'm Jay, and I've spent much of my working life dealing with people, understanding what they're looking for and helping them make informed decisions.
You might already know me from Jay's Virtual Pub Quiz, where I've spent years presenting live quizzes and building a community of people from across the world.
One thing I've always enjoyed is researching things properly. Whether it's comparing different options, working through the details or finding a solution to a problem, I'm not someone who simply settles for the first result.
That's exactly the approach I bring to planning holidays.
I want to understand what you're looking for, what matters most and what you'd rather avoid. Then I can research suitable options and explain the differences so you can make an informed choice.
And if I think something isn't worth the extra money, I'll say so.
It's the whole holiday that matters
We've all seen a hotel that looks fantastic in the photographs. Beautiful pool, lovely rooms, sea views...
But what if it's an hour and a half from the airport? Or the family room isn't quite what you expected? Or the all-inclusive package doesn't include the things you'd assumed?
That's why I look beyond the headline price and consider how the different parts of a holiday fit together.
Location, location, location
A great hotel in the wrong location can make for a frustrating holiday. I'll look at what's nearby, how easy it is to get around and whether the surroundings suit what you're after.
The right facilities
From family rooms and children's activities to quieter accommodation and individual accessibility requirements, the details matter. I'll take these into account when researching suitable options.
Getting there and back
Flights, airports, transfers, connections and travelling times all make a difference. Sometimes a slightly more expensive option is worth considering if it makes the journey considerably easier.

The cheapest headline price isn't always the best value. I'll compare what's included and help you understand where your money is best spent.

Sometimes the first option is right. Sometimes a little more digging uncovers something better.
